Our Mission
The Cannabis Regulatory Commission will establish the Leech Lake Nation as the tribal model for a regulatory program that stimulates business growth while preserving safe consumer access to cannabis and cannabis products.
Regulatory Authority
The Commission derives its authority from the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe Cannabis Ordinance and associated administrative regulations. Under this authority, the LLCRC is empowered to license, regulate, inspect, and enforce all cannabis-related operations within tribal jurisdiction, including the adoption of rules, investigation of violations, and issuance of penalties where necessary.
Scope of Regulation
The Commission oversees all aspects of the cannabis industry within Leech Lake Band lands, including but not limited to:
- Cultivation
- Manufacturing and processing
- Retail dispensary operations
- Transportation and distribution
- Laboratory testing
- Inventory tracking and compliance systems
The LLCRC ensures that all licensed operations adhere to established regulatory standards from seed to sale.
